One Acre Farm Educational Foundation and
Strides Autism Programs
In 2016, One Acre Farm established a 501c3 non-profit educational foundation. The goals of the educational foundation are to provide, through Strides Autism Program, educational, therapeutic and recreational activities for families of children with autism or other special needs. Families with children who have special needs are often experiencing financial stress. Therefore, it is our desire to provide these programs for these families free of charge when possible. Funds through donations and/or grants are used for the general operating costs of One Acre Farm Educational Foundation, providing Strides Autism Programs, purchase and maintenance of equipment, supplies, curriculum, training and other operating expenses.
One Acre Farm Educational Foundation, 501c3 non-profit, is supported by generous hearted people like you. There are many ways that you can give and be an integral part of our mission as we strive to provide educational, therapeutic and recreational activities for families of children with autism or other special needs like PTSD, trauma, learning challenges, anxiety, depression and other neuropsychiatric conditions. The clinically proven programs based on our certification in The Horse Boy Method and The Movement Method, utilize our horses and other small social farm animals, are held in an outdoor and natural ‘yes’ environment and encourage movement to activate the cerebellum and prefrontal cortex helping the kiddos to achieve fine and gross motor skills, gain emotional regulation, reasoning and so much more.
We never want financial stresses to hinder the incredible healing opportunities and therefore, all of our needs-- including animal feed and care, supplies and equipment, curriculum, training and handlers—benefit from donations and/or grants.
One Acre Farm is certified through The Horse Boy Foundation as "1 Star Apprentices and Mentors" of The Horse Boy Method and The Horse Boy Movement Method. From life skills to academics, Movement Method, how the brain wants to learn, is science backed approach for traditional schools, homeschools, higher education alike that show how movement helps build the brain, learn and break free. Movement Method programs have been offered since Fall 2016. Horse Boy Method (equine) programs have been offered since Spring 2017.
Please consider giving to this growing mission.

What To Expect from the Strides Autism Program
After completing the application, Catherine, or other Horse Boy trained staff, will review all the information and begin the process of formulating an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) if requested.
The first session will consist of walking around the farm with parent and child or even with both parents and all siblings. While walking around, a review of the application and the parent’s goals will be discussed.
Based on the discussions and agreements as to how to move forward, the next session will be scheduled for the following week. During that time, the facilitator will prepare lesson plans and acquire any necessary supplies for the next session time.
This will repeat for each weekly session. The goals can change with each session based on the child’s needs and the parent’s goals.
The cost of the 8 weekly sessions is $400-$1000 depending on type of services provided.
- $50/hr for private session.
- $75/hr for private session, IEP (individualized educational plan) and progress report.
-$125/hr for private session utilizing a horse for riding.
It is always the desire of One Acre Farm Educational Foundation to offer these sessions free of charge. Donations and scholarships are always being sought out. A prospective family can choose to pay the amount out of pocket, find a donor of their own, like a family member or friend, or wait for a scholarship to be funded.
The TEA (Texas Education Agency) has available funding through its SSES (Supplemental Special Education Services). One Acre Farm is an approved vendor and families may use those funds to directly pay for sessions. The link is:
